After more than 3 years of studies, the URCA (University of Reims Champagne Ardenne) publishes its results on the contribution of the installation of copper alloy architectural elements in EHPAD/MARPA. More than 1000 handles and 1000m of handrail were installed for this study in 5 EHPAD/MARPA in the Grand Est region. Over the duration of the study, more than 1000 surface samples were taken to compare bacterial contamination of copper alloy surfaces with reference surfaces. A major decrease in bacterial contamination on handles and handrails was observed, confirming the effectiveness of copper alloy architectural elements as a tool to fight against the risk of infection.
